The hotspots, part of a joint venture between Telefónica and Nova Labs, will integrate with Telefónica’s network using existing customer SIM cards. This collaboration allows data transmission over the Helium 5G network while maintaining control through a proprietary Telefónica management system.

Helium Mobile, developed by Nova Labs, is a unique wireless phone service building on the decentralized Helium network. Users hosting nodes or hotspots in their homes or businesses contribute to the network’s expansion and earn crypto tokens on Solana as a reward.

With the deployment of Helium Mobile hardware, Telefónica becomes the first major wireless carrier to directly offer this technology in Mexico.
