Salvadoran Teenager Becomes Bitcoin Teacher, Escaping $6-a-Day Earnings

In a remarkable turn of events, 18-year-old Gerardo Moran, a Salvadoran teenager, has transformed his life from earning a mere $6 a day to becoming a Bitcoin teacher. His journey back to his former high school in El Salvador has led him to educate senior professors about the world of Bitcoin, showcasing the transformative power of knowledge and opportunity.

The Journey to Bitcoin Education

Through a series of tweets on July 8, Gerardo Moran shared his inspiring story of completing El Salvador’s Bitcoin diploma program, Mi Primer Bitcoin, meaning “My First Bitcoin.” Supported by El Salvador’s Ministry of Education, the program enabled Moran to leave behind his construction job, where he earned a meager income.

Escaping the Cycle of Limited Earnings

Having started working at the tender age of 11, Moran toiled in construction and tourism industries. He often wondered why Salvadoran citizens had to work so hard for such meager rewards. Frustrated with earning just $6 a day, Moran decided to seek new opportunities and quit his construction job, unaware of what awaited him.

Discovering the Path to Bitcoin Education

Fortuitously, Moran’s school released a call for students interested in the Bitcoin diploma course. Driven by curiosity and a desire for change, he applied and excelled in the program, marking the turning point in his life.

Leading Bitcoin Education

Now equipped with valuable knowledge about Bitcoin, Moran has returned to his former high school, Antonio J. Alfaro school, as a Bitcoin teacher. He trains and teaches a group of eight senior professors, imparting the Bitcoin Diploma program to his hometown community.

El Salvador’s Bitcoin diploma program, Mi Primer Bitcoin, has gained widespread support from Bitcoin education advocates worldwide. Generous contributions, including donations of over 1 Bitcoin, poured in from countries such as Poland and Canada, fueling the growth and development of the program.

Government’s Emphasis on Bitcoin Education

El Salvador’s director of education, Gilberto Motto, emphasized the government’s commitment to educating citizens about Bitcoin, especially teenagers. By targeting the 16-17 age group, the government aims to leverage their influence within their families, effectively disseminating knowledge about Bitcoin throughout the country.

Empowering Youth and Driving Change

Gerardo Moran’s inspiring journey serves as a testament to the transformative power of education and seizing opportunities. His transition from a life of limited earnings to becoming a Bitcoin teacher demonstrates the potential for positive change that lies within the youth of El Salvador.
