Daniel Alegre, the chief executive officer of Yuga Labs, has recently become the proud owner of Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT #3575. The transaction occurred on the Blur NFT marketplace and cost Alegre 50 ETH, roughly equivalent to $90,000.
Yuga Labs, creator of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), witnessed its new CEO purchase an NFT from its own collection.
In late 2021, Yuga Labs welcomed Alegre, previously the president of video game company Activision Blizzard, as its CEO. His current duties include managing Yuga’s intellectual property portfolio, which includes the Bored Ape Yacht Club, CryptoPunks NFT, and the Otherside metaverse platform.
The minimum price for acquiring a Bored Ape NFT at present is 43 ETH, equivalent to $77,500. Each token’s art is a one-of-a-kind amalgamation of unique traits, with holders granted full creative and commercial control over their ape images.
Alegre completed the acquisition on the Blur NFT marketplace yesterday. Prior to the purchase, he transferred Ether from a Coinbase account to his Ethereum wallet, as evidenced by the on-chain data from Etherscan.
Alegre’s Twitter profile picture is now the avatar of his newly bought NFT, symbolizing his loyalty to the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).
